WWE - The Rock - The People's Champ Review - Free Online Movie Downloads - Why Are They Free

The self-proclaimed People's Champion, a wrestling character who's struck gold by essentially being a good guy who just can't help but act like a heel, is celebrated in this DVD that packages some of the Rock's notable matches with an enormous helping of his legendary verbal abuse. The Rock's rise to prominence in the World Wrestling Foundation is shown by the inclusion of showdowns with the Undertaker and the Big Show. The Rock's oddly comical pairing with Mick Foley as "the Rock and Sock" connection is also given a fair amount of screen time. Segments show him at home in Miami (where as Dwayne Johnson he played for the University of Miami football team), visiting his favorite barbershop (where he claims he learned some of his signature catch phrases), and shopping for his trademark flashy shirts at his favorite stores. He is also seen making a number of personal appearances, from book signings to throwing out the first pitch at a major league baseball game. If this sounds like the production is light on actual wrestling content, it is, but those who can't get enough of the hottest character in wrestling will find plenty of opportunity to "smell what the Rock is cookin'." --Robert J. Fox deliver some award winning performances in this movie. I also think Caterina Scorsone was great!

King Solomon led a grand life, thus rating this epic movie told in two parts, averaging 86 minutes apiece. Director Roger Young chronicles the king's rise from the weakling mama's boy of Bathsheba to a ruler known for his wisdom, international alliances, construction of the Jewish temple, and oh yes, those thousand wives--concubines included. Part 1 spends the first hour tracing the rivalry of Solomon (Ben Cross) with half-brother Adonijah, before and after the death of their father King David (Max Von Sydow in a brief appearance). It then makes a 10-year leap to dramatize his famous method of divining the true mother of a contested infant. In Part 2, the filmmakers embrace the legend that Solomon and the Queen of Sheba (Vivica A. Fox) had a romantic as well as political alliance, suggesting that they were the star-crossed loves of each other's life and introducing some soft-focus nudity. With the queen's departure, Solomon descends into materialism and idolatry. The performances are strong and the script, penned by Bradley Winter, artfully weaves in background information to give the viewer helpful historical context. --Kimberly Heinrichs
